Saturday night at Iceman Raceway!

It was a great evening of food, fun and laughs last night running on Slot Therapist's "Iceman Raceway" road course!




The first class of the evening is a class we refer to as "Friday Night Cars" - it is a local area class that is designed around minimal cost and maximum fun! It utilizes a Johnny Lightning / AutoWorld Thunderjet chassis (or Ultra G with the button magnet removed), an RT-HO brand brass weighted front end and silicon rear tires. (either on factory rims or aftermarket double flange rims) The weighted front end keeps the the front end planted and the lack of traction magnets keeps things "sporty"!

There was a lot of great door to door action as some of the pictures above show! With a nice tight technical track like this, there was also plenty of opportunity to step over the line while trying to keep the other guys in your rear view mirror! :lol:

When the checkered flag flew - it came down to sections to decide positions even with five racers!



Definitely a fun class of cars to run!

The next class to hit the track were the stock Aurora T-jets!
For this class we had a theme this race - everyone had to run a "Hauler" body (pickup, van, station wagon, etc) - the higher center of gravity and skinny tires of the "stock" class made for some pretty entertaining racing!

And in an effort to leave it "all on the track" - here is how my 'burb slid to a stop after the checkered flag flew!




The "haulers" were a riot to run! There was a fair share of "hey look - two wheels!" as drivers tried to push these top heavy units through the twisties with a lot of good ol' "rubbin' is racin'" going on!

When the checkered flag fell, the finish order fell as follows:

While Hangtime was hooked up like nobodie's business and was able to leave the rest of the field in the dust - it was pretty much a dog fight from there! :D
