Mopar,Cougar Diecast for Saturday Night Racing

Well following along with what Mark and Wayne are doing with some Hot wheels thought we would try it..
Pulled the mags from a Mattel chassis and did some serious trimming on a Mopar.Nothing fancy at all..These boys are fun to run. With the added die-cast weight and mags removed they really slide though the corners..Just wish I had keep some more chassis.Plan on building an oval as these should fit right in..

Thanks Todd and Jeff..Just checked out some more of my HW stash and found a Cougar that didn't require all of the trimming.Fun with the mags removed..Takes a little to master your driving style, but after that they are a hoot.

Do tell more...

How do you have these attached to the body?

hey Scott, they are attached with double sided tape so the speak.I trim the chassis to where they are a tight fit, then use some tape to finish them off with.Seems to work well. The lower lugs could be trimmed off the chassis, but I'm waiting to make sure we will keep that body on that chassis.

Hey Rusty!

Great minds think a like!

I affix my bodies to the chassis the same way you do.

Also I just purchased that cougar also and shoe gooed it into the pit area of my 4 lane road course along with a red '70 toyota celica T/a car #22. They look great together as scenery in the pits but I like yours much more as a slot car!!!! The Hurst Olds was one of my favorite cars!!!!

Wayne (Bolton's Speed Shop) :D :D :D

hey thanks guys!!
Now I've got another reason to look at Hot Wheels....
May have to carry a measuring stick to get the right wheel base though.
Be bad to get arrested for looking at chassis size in wally world.... ;)
