AFX Data Race Control Center

Hi All,
A while back Austin posted that he picked up an AFX Data Race Control Center. It brought back memories since I had one when I was a kid. After his post I was lucky enough to find someone on eBay with 2 listed with a 99 cent starting bid. I bid $10 thinking I had no shot, but won them for $5! So today I set it up & it works like a champ! The sound tower even makes the strange moaning car noise synched with the amount of throttle you apply.

Here is what it looks like set up:


I still don't know what my final track will look like but this is what I set up today:





It is made up of Lifelike, Auto World, AFX, & Tomy track with Tyco controllers.

Thanks to Wayne for some of the pieces of Tomy track that I used!

That is cool as all get out!! I've been watching one of those on the bay also.Hope to incorporate it into my tyco layout.May have to find some adapters.Did you use adapters on your track or did you make some track pieces?

It has the old AFX track styled ends on it. Wayne had sent me some AFX to Tomy adapters which I used. I don't have a Tomy terminal track, so there are LL to Tomy adapters to connect that in. I do have LL to Tyco adapters too, but didn't need them in that layout.

You have plenty of variety to configure with now in track.....

congrats for your buy, you will have long and happy racing!
do you need the instructions to get it operated? can be converted to electricity with a 9 volt transfo, just go to electronic control station info and it is done almost the same way.if you need help, let me know

Be happy they used AA, 9V would not last long and cost quite a bit more. Nice find!! Jealous!

Racemasters needs to bring an updated version of this out to work with the racemasters/aw/tomy type track.....

AFX made some models to replace this unit
1 - from Ghost racer, macanic count up to 10 laps then the winner has the winning flag and came when an automatic button so you can race alone...
2 - the new one AFX 20001 battery operated, some king of electronic but no sound, time race etc
3 - Electronic control station, the most complete of them, he came out in the 90 no need a track, he got a big clip to goes underneath of the track, can been seen of many post on HRW

I have seen that modern one in a few posts. I got this one because it was the one I had when I was a kid.

It was probably the same set that I got the box for, but I didn't get the track, just the control center.

I didn't know that there were a couple of other versions in between though.
