Some vintage slot car buildings from the train show

Postby BRP32 » Sun Mar 15, 2015 6:19 pm

I went to Railfest today which is a huge model rail road show by me and I found some neat things for my slot car tracks.

First I found this old Aurora Judges stand. Very cool and a nice addition to any vintage ho track layout!

I also bought this hot dog stand for my concession area also. Very cool!

Last but not least I always wanted a lionel train set for under the Christmas tree. I bought a complete train layout with this lionel steam engine set complete along with a bunch of O gauge buildings and scenery from the show today also. It was a lot of fun. I met a guy the next town over from me into slot cars and trains and he had a lot of ho cars for sale also. He knows the owner Bob at BADLHOBBY by us and will be joining the ho racing fun regularly also. Overall a very good time and show to go to. I find many useful slot car accessories at train shows. Always worth a look!

Nice finds Wayne! I sold a vintage Lionel set a few years ago for some good coin. I needed the money at the time. I kind of wish I still had it.

Hey guys!

Rusty, your train and slot car layout at Christmas really inspired me!

I've wanted a Lionel steam train set for many years but the cheapest I could acquire a new set for was about $200.

When I seen the gentleman selling a whole layout with the set, and buildings and scenery as a package I jumped on it.

I'm as giddy as a school girl now and like a little kid at Christmas!!!!!!

The vintage ho slot building was the icing on the cake today!!!!!

Hey Wayne, looks like you picked up some cool stuff. I visited the show on Saturday and bought some lock and joiner track and a bunch of landscaping materials for my new Figure 8 track. I also picked up a service station and an HO-scale roll back truck for a diorama I am building.

I, too, go to all the train shows. It seems like there is always someone there who has some slot car stuff for sale.

Hey Craig!

Yeah, the guy you bought the lock and joiner track from had the vintage judges stand I purchased. He had a pile of the old track and was trying to make me a deal on it. I use the newer tomy track.
I had a blast at the train show looking at all the layouts and I dipped my toe back into the o scale train arena also by buying a complete o gauge layout off a gentleman.

I look forward to the next train show in a week or so I believe at a school in Parma.

Happy Hunting!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D
