I did this car for a friend. The rear wheel wells were cut and the front screw post was trimmed down. Otherwise a very nice example and the surfboards are still attached. The rear wheels were tyco 440 and the fronts were TuffOnes rear wheels. I thoroughly cleaned the chassis and replaced the commutator brushes. Turned out pretty well. Not the fastest Tjet around but it runs quiet and smooth.

Always great to see one of the originals pressed back into service! :handgestures-thumbup:
I just picked up one of the newer AW release El Caminos The new ones don't come with the surf boards - but still looking forward to seeing it running around the track in the near future! :)

Very nicely done! That's the kind of T-Jet restorations I like to see. Looks like you've polished it up pretty well, too, after your body repairs.
I'm still running the original El Camino I bought when I was a kid, yellow w/ black bed cover.
I removed the surfboards though, and added a pair of original aj's small #025 "Falcons" black slip on silicone tires (also purchased new with the car)
so I could keep up with the other muscle cars in the corners! It's now running with Wizzard carbon/copper composite motor brushes,
as I do with all my pancake motor T-Jet and A/FX runners today. They work great, and the motor stays cool!
Once again, great work. Enjoy -- Ernie :>)
