Slot Therapist invited a number of us to his home for some good times and great racing!
In addition to our normal group - Z-carfan made the trip up from Gallena, OH to join in the fun as well!

Apalmer was on site to complete an upgrade of the Icehole's timing system to incorporate a light bridge to allow use of the "Fuel Race" feature in Race Coordinator. To say this made for some great fun would be an understatement!
:D

The action started off with the open wheel / Whelen Modified cars!
The drivers and their cars were:
Our host - Slot Therapist and his blue flamed machine:

APalmer and his iridescent yellow #11
Image

Z-carfan and his "factory White" machine (shown on the starting line):

Steve Reed and his yellow #55

Russell May running his yellow #24

And me and my black #8

To say that these cars were a riot to race would be an understatement!
In addition to the drifting, rubbing and racing fun - the added dimension of having to watch your fuel usage (which is on a curve, so the faster you go, the faster it burns it!) and co-coordinating making the stop under the timing lights to refuel ramped the fun another notch!

When the smoke cleared - the finishing order fell as:

Definitely a great time!

This one was a wild one! With a whole lot of action on the track and then some wild action off the track when Terry's dog planted his paw in a mouse glue trap under the track and started fighting (unsuccessfully) to get away from it mid-heat!
(Track Call!) :)

When the dust (and fur) settled - the battle for first came down to segments with a lot of great racing going on throughout!
Image

Definitely a great way to spend a Saturday!

I want to thank all the guys for welcoming me up for the races this weekend, and for the assist on spare parts and bodies! :banana-dance:

I am new to the Tjets and never understood why it is so popular. Well, I do now!!! This class of racing is inexpensive and wholly crap it was a hoot!!!
Sliding around on the oval was a blast, and the fuel option made the racing even more challenging.

I literally built this car before the event.
Original body:

Whelen Modified 3D Printed body:

It was my Auto World Chassis, a 3D printed body that Terry (slotherapist) sold me, and a set of front and rear wheels that Steve sold me from his massive goodies stash.
Some quick grinding to remove the magnet pocket with a borrowed Dremel so the car had clearance and that was it.
Within 15 minutes I was out competing and having a ball!!!
She will get some paint before the next event in two weeks (I Hope).

Well Todd, looks like I am coming back up on the 17th if you guys will have me. :banana-dance:

Ok ok, now Mr. Z is in this. What a great race event. And dammut boys! Look at the 57! Why am I singing "if I only had a brain" thinking of what Carrera could/should have done?

Have to say, the oval racing is pretty impressive. Should be considering the work on all the cars, not to mention the bodies.
As usual, I was really liking the Fairgrounds series.

Thanks for a great report.
