I picked up a car today that's missing a pick up shoe and spring. I found out the car is an Aurora Blazing Brakes. I think it's from 1981. Any idea who might sell these
Thanks

Here are the Aurora part numbers.

It looks like Tomy, BSRT, AFX or Viper shoe springs would work. I could not find a source for the shoes. If you want to restore the car as a collector's item you would want original shoes, if you just want to get the car running you might be able to use JL/AW X-Traction shoes if you put extra bends in them.

Slot Car Central has the shoes for $3.50 a pair, do a search on the site for Blazin Brakes.

I emailed slot car central and got a reply and he had springs and shoes. I ordered 4 pair.
Rich I got the part numbers from the model motorists site, but couldn't get any matches. Bob from SCCentral had different numbers.
Running HO is tougher then I thought it was gonna be :>)
Thanks all for the assistance

You can run Tyco 440 (non X2) shoes on these chassis', just need to do a little tweaking to get them flat on the rails & remove the little tabs that retain the Tyco PU spring.

I don't know much about these cars. Cat's Eyes, Blazin' Brakes and Speed Shifters were introduced in 1981, Aurora packed it in in 1983, so I assume that they were not sold in large numbers. I have only seen these cars in pictures, I am not a collector so I have never tried to get any of them.
