Controller upgrade question

Looking for suggestions on an upgrade in controllers.

I have an older Tyco Pro track system that I have revived and am racing with but I was having some issues with the newer (primarily 440X2) cars I was running. My controller was getting hot and the cars struggled at times to get going. Forum member TuscoTodd suggested I upgrade my controllers from the originals, with the thought of grabbing Parma controllers.

Todd’s thought was to look for something in the 45 – 60 ohm range, but thought I should throw that question out to the group just to make sure that was the appropriate range of controller to seek out.

Does that sound about right?

Thanks.

Mike

Most people would use a 45 ohm controller with a Tyco 440X-2. If I was forced to use a resistor controller I might be tempted to try a 35 ohm model, but I like a controller with a faster response.
