Bolton Raceway Park Ho scenery started

I finally had some time to start scenery this weekend on Bolton Raceway Park Ho Tomy 4 laner.

I cut some 1/4" luan and painted it gray for the pit area. The guard rails went up along with the white painted barriers down the straights with banners. Also you can see the "great stuff" spray foam used for the base of the scenery. One big can will do approximately 1/2 a hollow core door. I need to get another can to finish up with. Once the foam dries I will cut and shape it,add lichen and trees I had off my model rail road. Scratch built buildings of a timing tower, grand stands and a pit garage will be built.

More pics to come as scenery progresses. Stay tuned.

I have a HO track on a 4x8 right now, but I am taking it apart to put a 4 lane 1/32 track in that area. I want to do the door track so that I can store it out of the way when not in use, and set it up on a pair of saw horses when in use!

Hi Guys!

Yeah this has been a fun build so far!

That oval looks great Harry!

I'm liking the stockers you have in the one picture racing on it.

I will run a variety of Ho cars myself.

Nothing like racing in multiple scales.

We have a new slot shop to about to open about 10 minutes from where I live soon.

He is putting in a 4' x 16' Ho track to race on Friday and Saturdays.

Should be fun!

Hey Greg!

Thanks!

All the foam scenery is done now and carved to shape for the most part.

Time to start painting the scenery green and add bushes and trees and such.

More pictures soon as I progress along.

The spray foam scenery has been applied, carved back to shape and the green base coat has been applied to start off the scenery.

More to come. This is only the beginning.

Nice start on the scenery! Looks like the foam will help keep the track in place. I have some of that foam, but have not used it on anything yet. I have 3 scales of slot cars, but only 1/32 is set-up.

Thanks!

I caulked the track down in place but the foam helps keep it in place plus protects the cars if they deslot also.

I'm surprised more people haven't used the spray foam for scenery.
