Tinkering with TYCO TCR

I picked up a TYCO TCR set with two cars in excellent condition. Just starting tinkering with them. They're a little temperamental, but the potential is there for some racing fun with the kids. Does anyone have any expertise in TCR? I know it's often ignored by most slot car enthusiasts due to the many technical problems and the fact that it seems to be a novelty, but I like a challenge.
Thanks.

Hi Rusty,
I've been reading a lot on Dan's site. Very comprehensive.
I picked up the TCR High Banked set:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/111442468830?_t ... EBIDX%3AITThe cars in the High Baked set are in decent condition. I'm going to follow Dan's steps to restore them. The track is in excellent condition. My son (4) is struggling to get his lane change timing right, but we're having fun.
