I am going to rebadge that second #16 to a #23 and then reshoot this...but I just love this shot on the cover of the original AFX Handbook I bought back in the mid-70s at my local hobby shop in North Vancouver. All I knew was magnatraction and never had any idea what kind of slot cars tjets were back then.

And done. I know the angle is not quite right as I need more background but otherwise, not too shabby. It only took me 40 years to finally acquire the two cars I always wanted. LOL.

Wow 1974, I was just out of High School. I think AFX would love your shot

I always loved those curves! Great shot. I had the '75-77 versions. Wish I still had them!

David, are there different versions of those curves? Mine are the original from 1972. Any differences? Curious.

Sorry, I meant the Aurora handbook, not the corners.

That is a great shot! I still have my well worn copy, but mine is the latter issue.

Awesome pics guys!
I wish tomy would repop the S curves again!
They are pretty sweet!
I never had the hand book but I did wear out my afx and tyco catalogues that came in the racing sets from looking at them so much back then!
:D :D :D

Tomy is not going to repop anything, the AFX business is now run by Racemasters. If you go to the AFX site there is a History section. If the tooling still exists it would be easier to re-issue the curves if Racemasters could be convinced that there is enough demand for them.

Always loved running our Aurora T-Jet and A/FX cars on those Banked "S" Curve track sections when they became available back then.
A/FX Racemasters just put the Loop track sections back on the market, maybe they'll re-issue the more racer friendly
(even if only for 2 laners) Banked "S" Curves track set to us, too! Probably sell plenty of those, and they can be included in appropriately themed sets, as can the Loop sections. Hopefully this is possible, otherwise we'll have to dig out our track adapter sections to use the old original A/FX pieces for our tail sliding FUN!
