My picked up this AFX Data Race Control Center, Had it shipped in from Canada. Had to change up my track a little to make room.









This Data Race Center is great. It does lap counting and timing, Fuel indicator and need for it stops to refuel. The faster you go the sooner you'll need to refuel. If you run out of fuel it will stop counting your laps. It all so came with the sound tower not in the photo as I am trying to change the sound form F1 LMP sounds to the sound of V8s

I had the tyco pro sound tower as a kid. Great way to annoy your parents because when this baby cranked up it sounded more like a chain saw then a car engine sound and boy was this thing loud!!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

Needless to say it didn't last long in our household........

That is cool Wayne! I used to drive my parents crazy when the cars would interfere with the TV reception in the days before cable TV!

Yeah, between the tv interference the tyco sound tower and the afx magnasonic cars with the clicker boxes I really irritated my parents I'm sure!!! :lol: :lol: :lol:

I definitely kept them on their toes!!!

I have 10 girls over currently at my daughter Abbey's birthday sleepover party and they are blowing New Years horns and such so I'm getting pay back from what I did to my parents now I guess?

I watch these from time to time on ebay. I have one without the tower. I like to think you can take them apart and make a custom housing just using the important guts of the hardware. Nice find!

What does the data race control center do as fair as features Challengerguy?

I never seen one of those either?

Must of been when I was out of slots for awhile they came out?

the datarace came from 1979 you could have it in many ways
1- the datarace only and the sound tower separately
2 the datarace with soundtower as a set
3 - or with a complete raceset Aurora AFX 2708
4 - and of course you could have one with speedsteer racetrack
this unit was a long way ahead for the time he came out that was true - closest thing to reel racing --

nice track and i hope you can enjoy it for many years...

the electronic control station is model after the Datarace without fueling he came out in the 90, works almost the same, countdown, racetime, can be programmed by time or race( 5 10 15 etc) and of course can be converted to electricity( no more batteries)
