Oval Track Racing "sprint cars"...

I took my modular track out of.....Raytown-International-Raceway......To make way for a 6 lane oval track.....I want open wheel action....With these type cars...

At its finest with, in the car cameras...

Great video.. if you want that type of racing with that type of car look at the 1/32 asphalt mods on this site. I can help we build them in both 1/24 &1/32 scales.cars are fun to race in both size

Back in 1964 I was 11 and saw AJ Foyet win racing a 64 Ford Galaxy at the St. Fair ground....
Back when they were really Stock Cars.....

Well, it's getting there 16' straights and 10' wide 6 lanes......

It looks like I have to start scratch building some 1/32 sprint car frames, after I brought these in to show around, the word got out ....Only the aluminum "beer can" wings will be plastic instead.....

I made these 20 years ago.....might have to simplify it some way.....

16' is the magic #, anything longer and it becomes a motor track. :text-goodpost:

Anticipating 10 -15 frames, so I built a bending jig, also a soldering assembly jig.....
I had a piece of 4'' aluminum angle, just the right length...So....

Just start at one end, clamping hold down blocks as you go....





The assembly jig lets you solder the wire cage to the frame nice and square, add some bracing and then remove from the jig and solder in cross bars...Probably some more jigs to make yet...

Great video's, I particularly like the Sprint Car Video. Reminds me of the past years I went to the Knoxville Nationals.

I was out the Raytown and checked out the Road Course racing and saw a couple of guy's testing their Dragsters. Count me in on racing on the Oval, with sprint cars or about anything else. Let me know when the Oval track will be ready, nobody seemed to have a time frame on when it will be ready. Thanks :D

Keith, glad you made it Sunday .....
Got more done today, besides working on cabinets for a builder, but heck I'm ahead of schedule time to have fun...


I drilled a couple more holes in the bending jig to make nerf bars....







Another jig to mount the wing brackets and a nose bumper to protect the guide...
But bending the pieces to the top of the nerf bars is time consuming,magnets helped hold them in place to solder....
