I found and purchased a pair. :dance:

The Lola runs fantastic...



The GT40 runs good but has an issue....



On hard acceleration, the guide pulls out of the slot. The back straight on my track has a little jog,and if I'm hard on the gas, this car will ignore the jog and continue down the track out of the slot until it encounters the barrier wall. Does the same accelerating out of curves. Everything is great as long as I'm not under heavy acceleration. The car is smooth and quiet and corners great.

I bought these already set up for wood track.....no magnets,urethane tires and weight added. The Ford has weight in front of the motor and on either side of the guide. Both cars are sidewinders.

Here is what I think, please advise. :text-thankyouyellow:

The GT40 has a ton of flex in the chassis right around the motor and I believe it is twisting the car enough to pull the right front corner up and the guide out of the slot. Possible ? There is no chatter so I don't believe it is vibrating the front end out. What have you all done to fix this?

Hard to call it. Stock motor? I have seen this happen but usually on models where folks have put in super hot motors.

Before going in deeper, maybe just try working with the weight?

I run all of my March cars hard and haven't broken one yet. I also have played with my Lotus - it runs good but needs tires to really make it great.

I do. Why purchase a model not caring if it fails the 2nd time you race it? And then cannot fix it as parts for it cannot be had unless you purchase another car? If they are available, I have not found them.

My March models are smooth as silk and durable enough? Unless you are over-voltage mag racing, then just about any car is suspect.

I don't like investing that much into a car that in the event the gears go bad, I cannot easily replace them. And the amount of complaints from other users I have had tell me that this aspect is a deal breaker for future investments.

HOWEVER I have now raced this configuration in anger. It reacts better than I expected and was easily enough tuned non-magnet.

Still not as quiet and smooth as the March, but I enjoy it.

I shotgunned it.

CH26 Slot it guide that I just happened to have on hand,
applied hot glue to the motor which stiffened the rear of the car,
Redistributed the weight that was already added,
rerouted the guide wires.

Don't know what was most effective and don't care.....I think it all needed to be done and the mechanic didn't charge any extra since he was already in there.
