What a fun week, but busy. Finished my 57 Ford and now choosing the next project. At lease I am finishing something? :)

Might have a new guest at HRW this weekend. Strangebrew is scheduled to visit the old Skunkworks on Sunday to check out the new Sportsman class cars.

What do you all have planned?

I'll be spending Saturday rearranging a room in my house to make room for a -gasp- wood track, the configuration of which will be dependant upon how much room I can clear and how generous my wife is feeling.

I've wanted to do this for a few years now, and I'm done waiting. I need a fun course and am going to make it happen. It'll probably be a single-lane rally course because I don't have much space, but we'll see how it all turns out. The routing will come later- first I need room, then a table, then a design. At the rate I work, those things alone should keep me occupied for a few weeks at least.

This weekend is going to be fun for me! I am working on what i think is a very special project! Some of you know about it, but i am hoping to have an example this weekend. Also Finishing up the Merc chassis for the Pan Am, and a some trigger time Saturday if the weather holds out for us! All in all, a slot filled weekend, got some Meat to go in the smoker too! Just dont get any better than this.

There are 3 cars for 3 proxies on my bench right now, and I hope to get them finished. One is giving me a lot of trouble, and one is barely started. The other is finished, but needs tuning and without a track, its hard to do. Then I have a lot of pictures to take for selling cars.

Firing up the smoker on Sunday. Got some friends coming around for an afternoon of story telling, drinking and munching.

Of course, the weather that was supposed to be nice and clear in high 20s is now forecasting wind and possible drizzle in the low 20s.

I planned on putting decals on my sportsman but found out with the first one that the yellow is too transparent for the purple so I ended up painting the numbers. I took down the Christmas lights on the house since it is really nice here and then went and picked up the car trailer so that I can get wood first thing in the morning. We are building a 24' ramp on a house of one of my parishioners because he can no longer do steps. I was pushing a car out of the garage so I could replace the two front tires which tend to go flat when I broke my big toe so the ramp building for me is questionable since it throbs every time I think about moving it. I still need to write a sermon and about 12 newsletter articles, put together a 3-4 hour confirmation class for Sunday afternoon and I really want to finish the sportsman car so it can go in the mail on Monday.

Racing open wheel and front motor cars and the hill climb tonight at Luf's. Testing the brass replacement chassis I just built for my Slot.it GT40. Putting decals on my Studebaker and Porsche 356 for Panam. Putting the driver and interior in my barn find Ford sedan. Waiting for my order from SCCC with four pair of wheels and some pinions. Then racing at Perry's on Monday night. Ok, so Monday really isn't the weekend, but when you are retired it is, eh?

If I get half of those things done I will be happy.

Starting work on a new routed track (my first track). It going to be 16'x6' overall, latex-painted mdf. Designed by Dickie Pearson (dungeonracer), he and I and Phil will be working on it tomorrow morning. Great way to celebrate a B'Day!

I got a wild hair today and started my spring cleaning early, I have no idea why. I did make some room in the bedroom because of it. I haven't done much slot car wise this week. I just haven't been in the mood to do much since my dad passed away last Tuesday. He was just 2 1/2 months shy of 100. I did get to see him over the Christmas holiday, so I was glad to have gone to Arizona. I also got to see my brother as we haven't been face to face since 1978. I wish I would have had 2 more weeks to stay. Have a good weekend everyone. :)
