Nice work on the bifold doors. What did you use for the hinges?

I knew you would ask that. I cut up a coke can and found that the tin was far too weak. Then I cut up a soup can. The strength was excellent and I was able to curl the end around a pin and created a very convincing, working hinge. Then I did a second which worked equally well, but didn't look quite the same as the first and determined that this is why guys like PST do photo etches. So I threw out both hinges and used masking tape. It works very well, has good strength and is replaceable if needs be and all that is visible is the part that looks like the hinge pin. You just need to make sure that the visible bits are equally spaced as would be hinges. I coloured the visible bits with a black sharpie. The only draw back with using tape is that I can't shoot the inside of the door.

That's got to be easier than soldering brass ones like I did. Nearly drove me bonkers. I think I made about 20 trying to get 4 that matched well enough to pass.

I admire you for doing it. I wanted to, but I like close up photos and felt if I couldn't get them to be identical, it just wouldn't do. At some point, if I need a set that are visible, I'll undertake it.

Between the two of you Peter and Lynne, I am always amazed (not sure if that word is strong enough).

I enjoy the "surroundings" as much as racing the cars at Dundee Speedway, but you two are in a league of your own!!

Can't wait to see what piece of art you two have created with each post!!

That old single post hoist is cool.
Some oil stains on the floor might be next.......no, not the floor. Yes, the floor.

Peter - I didn't think you could improve it, but you proved me wrong as usual. The floor is the bee's knees!
