Help with slim line motor

I purchased a few m/t- sl2 slim can motors to build some midgets on a Penelope chassis. However I run AC2Car so I use ac power. The motor has no torque at all and I need to get a replacement. The only one I can find I think is the scale auto slim can. 18, 20, 25, 30 and I think they even have a 38? Not sure. So I also have an ej’s midget racer that has a fox motor in it. I’d like to see if I can match the ej midget but running with ac I’m not sure which motor would work best. I can mess with the gears as it will run with slot-it spur. Do you have any suggestions?

You need to give more details about your set up. Something doesn't add up. As far as I know all small electric motors used in slot cars are permanent magnet DC motors. Never going to run on AC. Can you describe your set up and what you are trying to do. So you have all these other cars and they work OK on AC but the new one doesn't? Test the ones that work exactly the same way as the one youre trying to build. Are you placing the cars on the track or did you try and test the motor directly off the power supply?

dr fabio, hi. The mt motor works fine, it just has no torque. my set up is AC2Car. I run my track with a lionel power supply 90 watts. It sends ac current to the track and I use diodes to run cars by negative or positive supply. so i can run two cars on the same lane. my slot-it motors and pirahnas and nsr motors all run fine. the only problem with the mt slim line is I have no torque, very slow to pick up and if it slides it almost stops before it gets going. so i'm looking for a replacement slim line that would offer a bit more torque and get up and go. Also i run no mags and it's ninco track. the only one i see is the scale auto, so i don't know if that would be a problem solver for me if i get a higher rpm motor? the scale autos come in 20, 25, 30 and i beleive 38.

OK on the same page now. The standard Scaly 18k slimline motor has about 130gcm of torque and in reality revs to about 22-23k rpm. That might be OK unless your car weighs motor that about 90 grams. as the brakes are marginal.

The MRRC (SRP) FF-050 motor is list at around 112g of torque vs the M/T which is listed at 77g

The scalextric F1 FF-050 is listed with a bit of torque 147g

Thanks guys, yes the scaley brakes are marginal as I have one of those and they run good but the breaking on the AC2Car does not exist and this is a roller to say the least!

When I read up on AC2 I thought that no brakes was one of the features/drawbacks of the system :)

That's true, they do not have breaks. It's really great to drive as well and I don't miss them. The only motor that really rolls beyond what you want is the scaley motor the ff. The MT motor simply doesn't have the performance to run the car as well as the the other motors. Even turned up to about 12 volts, i think what I'm going to do is try out the scale auto motors for two of the midgets I have and if that doesn't work I'll try a completely different set up.
