80's 1/32 slot cars Parma womps

Just wondering what a 80's Parma womp would sell for. Bought new in 80's,1 owner, only changes were tires and gears. Any iinformation would be greatly appreciated.

The T-bird(?) looks to be in fairly good shape, however the body on the Camaro(?) looks to be pretty well used up.
Pricing on these is all over the map as there appears to be only maybe(?) a limited type of "collector" market for some of the rarer/older body styles that are no longer being offered?
Looking at completed auctions on eBay appears to have the pricing ranging from $10 to $20+ each.

I will say that WOMPS can be a LOT of fun to race as they are relatively inexpensive, durable and depending on what you use for motors can make for some VERY close racing! (which is part of the reason they are still in production to this day)

We have a class at the local track that uses the WOMP chassis along with a Plafit Rabbit motor that makes for extremely close racing!

Speaking as a Womp racer from when they were first released, and from my experience as a former raceway owner I would have to say yeah, $10 is more like it. Womps usually don't bring much unless they are "prepped" for sale - clean with nice bodies and ready to run (including a decent pair of rear tires). Even then you're lucky if you can get $20-$25 at best. There are just so many of them out there that have been used up and abandoned, so shop around when buying one. Keep in mind many of these cars have been thoroughly trashed by their previous owners, as they are entry level cars to the world of commercial track racing and have probably been through some major wrecks at high speeds. Fortunately, the chassis can usually be straightened out with just a good pair of 5-6" needle nose pliers. Check that the guide flag isn't split, and be sure the end bell of the motor is still securely attached to the can, a common problem especially with the earlier 16D Parma motors. I would recommend spending no more than $10-$15 tops, you'll probably need at least new rear tires and braid before beginning to enjoy running them. There are lots of different things you can do with these cars once you have them sorted out. Many cool NASCAR, Sports Car, Modified and Super Modified bodies are available for lots of inexpensive racing fun. Good luck and Enjoy! -- Ernie:>)
