Got a bit of a late start this morning. Started sanding the lanes at 5;00 am  I will have to wait till after work today to get any more done, but a three day weekend will help things along nicely! Don't want to rush this to much, but I sure would like to make a lap on it soon.
Thanks for all the kind words on this Guy's.
More to come

Thought I would take a minute and add a parts list for this track build. This is a very cost effective track to build, and with some scrounging ability's, it could be done even cheaper. The following is a list of what I used to get you to the scenery stage. since that would be up to the individuals tastes, The cost of scenery would vary.
2x 2"x4"'s $5.36
4x 10' 1"x4"'s $13.00
8x 8' 1"x4"'s $15.84
1x 4'x8'MDF 1/2" $25.97
2 rolls aluminum screen wire $8.99
1qt latex paint $6.99
1roll copper tape 55 yards $8.97
deck screws box $6.88
Total cost to date $92.00
Of course these prices are regional, could be cheaper or slightly more in your area.
Given the fact that this will provide almost 80' of running area in a 104"x 48" space, it is one heck of a value in my opinion.
Timing options could include an over the track Carrera unit, slot dragon system, or a trackmate system. all determined by how much you want to spend overall.
Hope this helps anyone looking to do a track like this!

Wow Bob, this one has really sat me up. I am so impressed with how far in such a short time.
The design concept itself is not what I was expecting to see.
Did the track lay down as one piece as you were hoping?

Yes It did Bob, that part turned out to be way easier than I expected. using the 1/2" MDF allowed all the flex I needed for the amount of rise that I had. I did the math on the supports for the track, and just slid the ribbon of onto them as we went downward. A few screws to hold in place as I set the camber, and it was done. The design will leave little in the way of between lane scenery other than rock face walls, but I am OK with that, as it simulates the area where I live quite well. Now I am contemplating the era in which I want to emulate.it will probably be an earlier era if I stick with my tastes in cars and time.

Bob - you are quite the machine! I can't wait to see this thing live. Those 124's Harry sent you should eat it up.

It looks great so far, Bob.

It's the ideal Billy No-Mates track, as you can run just about anything on it, from vintage to rally, to classic Formula1 - at least they do at the big hillclimb events in UK.

And on the subject of previously-published beauties, did you ever see this one by David Caille, who does the fabulous Sillage Racing tracks?

Just when Im feeling smug and self satisfied that Ive done the best with my limited space and built a fun little Scaley Sport track, along comes the magnificent Mr. Taylor with an excellent lone wolf track, in less space. Great work. Id love to see a type C auto union running the hill. With the small space, low cost and all those years spent building model rail scenery, some serious thought will be given.
By the way what are some of the curve radius numbers and what will prevent cars from really going into the great abyss.
Cant wait to see further progress.

Seal666, I cant give you any numbers on the radius of any of my corners. I drew out the track, then the lanes, and just routed them in. A battery test car shows it to work well, so full track power should be a hoot. I will be adding period guard rails, and some natural elements as well ( rock walls, etc.) I appreciate the kind words, I am really looking forward to running this track.
It could be a long time before a "best" Time to conquer the dragon is established.
And I too look forward to running some of my early F1 Cars.

Dave, thats the porsche hillclimb car, is it not? Also looks like the photo may be at Hershey Pa. given trees in background,
If you build it PLEASE document as it would be a sweet ride.
Note to Bob T. Check out utube for hershey hill climb, some great vintage cars going through the 3/4 mile track.
