Todd, I have thrown everything from a piranha to MT/5, flat 6 motors, slot it motors, you name it. The overall combination is what works best, and I have yet to get the perfect set up!
Light cars with good grip are fast, but you need some sliding in the tight turns to get good times. low torque steady pullers do well too, but lack speed in the climbing. I honestly have not found or built the perfect set up for this yet, but I am sure trying! maybe you will !!

Good to hear that the Piranha is a potential viable candidate - I will continue going forward with that as my basis! :D
Now to finding that balance between good grip, drift, speed and braking.... :think:

Sarge, I don't have any of those slots yet. I would think they might be a bit large for the Dragon. smaller vehicles do better and don't bounce of the rock faces as much. except our Ninco fiesta rally car, it hits everything on the way up or down, and still turns great times.

She turned out pretty good. Prolly my best paint job yet! Now to see how she runs. I didnt put alot of time in tuning as all i have is an oval to test on so no real way to know if im doing anything positive lol. Normal truing of tites add pg tires and my homemade deep guide.
