Rusty, I've got three questions:

1. What is the distance between the rails ( center to center ) ?

2. What is an advisable clearance ?

3. Ther Artin gears are metric. All pinions of the four cars I bought are split open. Does anybody know where to get spare pinions ?
Or may I use other pinions with the same no. of tooth ?

Unfortunately he may - like many, many others in the US - not ship to Germany. " May not..."
Strange regulations.

I'll take brass pinions, made here and without restriction shippable from A to B.

Let's hope I " may" ship my cars to the States....

Hi Roland,the distance between the two set of rails is about 2 + 3/4 inches.
Should be no problem with clearance as I use in the track sensors with a light source high above.
Use what ever pinion you can get my friend.We are not that strict.

Hey Roland.Now I got ya. :)
You are looking at a 1/4 of an inch.The rails are pretty well level with the track,plus the track is copper taped .That will make the contact surface even wider.If your braids need adjusting a little I'll be glad to do so.

APalmer was having some picture hosting issues and sent the pictures over to me to share with the group. :)
