Welcome to the ProNoMag Speedtest 2015!
This is a small proxy race on the Desmo, a 24m 1/43rd wood track.
over the last weeks the entrants have been arriving and already testing their cars. One car did not make it in time, a Lancia from Team Britain. But let´s start with the cars that are here:
Betz - Alfa
14V, 45 ohm
it´s like driving a car with a broken turbo that comes into live when he likes it. too much play in the axles, way too much. hard to keep on the track.
the body looks fantastic so!
while driving you always get the impression that there is much in this car, but somehow hidden. With a little work a really nice car.
especially hard to controll in the slow part of the desmo. Put a shim under the guide to get it deeper in the slot, helped a little.

Mario - Nascar
15V, 90ohm
a drop of oil on the axles to help a little. guide is sitting to high in the chassis, the braids could help a little cars, too. again too much play in the rear axle. Tires not glued, but sanded quite good. stays on the track, but in the tight corners shows a clear tendency to jump out of the slot.
training session went quite well, even got a 10.371 on the counter. In lap 10 of the race getting slower and slower. checked and checked again, but could not find a reason. Motor dying / overheating - temperature felt normal ...
got potential!

Dan - BARC Porsche
9.4V 35ohm
the Puddle Racing Team performed a little tuning on the Porsche - a pair of CarGo High Grip tires, slop removed in the front axle, getting all tires on the track, glueing tires, coating fronts ...
the resin casted chassis works good, only the motor position in not in my favour, angled upwards, long original DSlot pinion - potential for improvement.
But in the end the Porsche is a nice handling, great looking car on the track, with a good balance of power and speed :D
only one deslot during the race - talk about stable, even if he´s waggling his tail out of every corner :D

Carsten - Cuda
10V 25ohm
a seriously smooth and quick, very nice to look at. But a little too much weight inside did not help cornering in the tight corners, so it really liked to deslot in broken guides corner. Good thing the race officials did not look against the light at the left front tire - they could have spotted a little too much light and no contact at all ;)
very nice to drive :)

Tilo - Benz
11V 45ohm
way too much torque in this 13D powered car. very tough chassis, a little sound from gears and resonation. fixed the wing only for the race ;)
i can´t believe how much difference there is in handling with this little wing fixed or not. it changes the car for good, for real good, if the wing is attached. it becomes more stable, especially while braking and that big motor is breaking hard. very stable to drive, only one deslot.
And the car is soooo nice to look at! Really nice work there! Would be the winner of the concours de elegance for sure!

Julian - DTM
11V 45ohm
SMC powered - very good to drive, only the weight of this metall chassis doesn´t help corner speed.
But in the end, it´s a really good driving car with much speed. good balanced and nice to drive.

Peter - Mini
9.5V - 45ohm
and last on the track - the Mini. lightweight, it´s all about grip and curvespeed. sometimes a little tricky, but always fun and fast. how fast this little car can go into the corner, still braking and immediately switches to full power is great. good balance between power and speed, the H0 box motor offers more than enough for the Mini.

And now the race is run, no major faults, no damage to cars, scenery or drivers has happened, quite unusual. It has been real fun, thanks for letting me drive your cars, gentlemen!
BUT who was the fastest?
here is the answer to the long awaited question:

for the very interested ones - the table with the lap times:

It has been a great race!
