SCX WOS system

I saw a few things about the new scx wos system. Seems like hotslots has them on pre order. Saw a spanish info video on them as well. I don't speak Spanish but they look nice. Wondering if anyone of you "in the know" have heard anything about the new system and what are your opinions on it?

No. Never bothered to give it a full review. The old Scx Worldwide site had one and that seemed good enough. Controllers failed a lot on the system I had for awhile and only Scx cars would work due to the guide system.

The only bright spot was the track. It looked great and was to be the replacement for the old tooling. It made a great analog track.

I saw an article on a spanish slot magazine, about wos.
It seems to have interesting features as sound (in the controllers), it' s wireless and has ghost and pace cars.
Wos cars can run also on an analog track, but said nothing about to convert analogic to wos.
The fuel funtion will be only abiable if you buy the 500€ set and you can't buy it separatelly!!!!
It seems Scx has make a great investment on WOS, even there are commercials on spanish tv( it cost a lot of money).

I got an specialist slot cars store just 2 min. from home, I ask the guy about wos and sais that they don't gonna have it at the store unless you ask specially for it!

Of course I wish good luck to scx, it's the brand whith I grow up, but seems scx is putting nails on his own coffin!!!!

SCX WOS has recently been released in Spain. Initial reports from a Spanish forum have been favorable. It seems SCX addressed most if not all of the shortcomings of the original SCX Digital system. With that being said, it is early days and I would proceed with caution. It would be best to wait until the system has been on the market for several months (to know for sure if it is a stable product or not) before even considering buying it.

If I were shopping for a digital set up, my first question about this system is, "Does the new system still use the old highly proprietary SCX guide with a plunger thingy to change lanes?" If the answer were yes, I'd turn around and walk away immediately.

I can confirm that SCX WOS does use the plunger thingy to change lanes. So you are pretty much limited to SCX WOS 1/32 slot cars.

Then they are not banking on the hobbyist market. Instead they are banking on the one time purchaser who buys on a whim or as a gift for his kids that will be used once or twice before being put away in the back of the closet never to see the light of day again.
