Ready to do another layout or changing scale?

I myself planing on doing another layout in a couple of weeks or months from now...
The main reason is that I wanted a 4 lane track but didn't have enough straights & was also missing some R3 curves & didn't though I would bought all the tracks missing before a long , long time because I couldn't spend that much money on some new tracks but all that change when I bought a complete Carrera Go set with lost of straights on Varagesale for $20... & with a little money to spare on Christmas Holidays I bought the R3 curves that I was missing so now got everything I need

My current track/layout is a cool one for sure but it is so big that it is pretty much a bit** to clean , specially one part of it that I have to get on the table to clean it good , so Imagine that with a scenery on it :angry-banghead:
When I'll be doing my 4 lanes I'll make sure I can clean the track all around without me having to get on the table
Also I'll be able to race 2x 1/32-1/24 cars on it at the same time

Thanks gang! As for the track, we'll call it my test/learning curve track. It's awkward to have more than 2 adults in the area for racing, the L shape has sight line issues, and I thought I was switching to digital.
So... Now that both of my boys(3&8) love to race Mom gave us the OK to move out of the utility room and into the playroom that doesn't get played in :text-thankyouyellow: As for the digital, ha, my wife bought me a digital set for my birthday... I had to break the news that Anki Drive is not slot car racing and had her take it back! So more cars,new controllers and a couple pieces of track will be ordered over the weekend :dance:
Switching from the 8x3/6x3 L to a 4x8 setup, before you scratch you heads, I managed to get more length and even lanes out of my new design. Working on some ideas for making the track portable enough to put it outside on a nice weekend and move it around for maintenance/cleaning.
I will try to put up a shot of the new design when I get home later

Ohh, and it will be for 90% 1/43 cars and small 1/32 rally cars!

This is the new layout: prof motor wiring center with tattoo machines for power and maybe DS controllers, DS200 timing, some elevation and a whole lot of landscaping. Hope to have it race ready by next weekend!

Here is a good 4x8 layout



I already tried that layout before , it has a nice flow to it & you get about 2" of room all around the track enough for borders...

I like all the BRS designs and have enough track to try them for sure. Going to pick up some wood, paint and wire today, table gets built tomorrow, track goes up Monday night :banana-dance:

Can't wait to see that , I just love seeing new track layouts...

Tip: If you don't have any R1 45°curves or need more just cut one R1 90° curve in half (after removing the rails) you'll have 2x R1 45° curves with only one R1 90° curve or
if you want to do this better just cut one R1 90° in 4 equal pieces & then use only both ends of the track & don't use the middle ones , once it's glue together with the cut rails back in place they will look just like an original R1 45° curves

Too funny, I needed 2 of those short 45s and happened to find them for 6 bucks at hotslots132... Score!!

Hmmm, I like the idea of the 75 degree to make some different curves ;) After the Anki snafu I was shopping cars and they had the track, so you know , and they are in my back yard so shipping is super cheap.

I will have a bunch of 90's left over, I think I'll get the Dremel and xacto's out and try to make myself a long slippery chicane or something crazy :mrgreen:

Now to go shed a tear and dismantle Indian Trail Raceway :cry: :violin: :cry:
