Scalextric Lotus Exige GT3

Has anyone tried/reviewed the Scalextric Lotus Exige GT3, the Donut King C3600 livery has caught my eye and I have seen them fairly cheap. I am curious if the car is worthwhile (not like I really need another slot car) .

I have one and in stock form with Paul Gage tires it is as good as or better than most of my Scaley fleet.

Do you remember what PG tires you used on it?

I'll have to look. At SCC they have a fool proof Paul Gage chart that matches specific cars to the correct PG tire.

OK, as it turns out I have the Lotus Evora, I get the two confused. Also the SCC Paul Gage tire selector doesn't list either. But I checked my Evora and it has the XPG 20104 tire. It would also take the 20114 or 20124 which have a wider track but the same size inner groove. I am 99% sure those tires will work on the Exige as they are very similar cars.

So I guess I am back to my original question, does anyone have a Scalextric Lotus Exige GT3 and what are their thoughts.

I don't have one but it says Donut King on it. That is a good enough reason for purchase. If you don't like it, I'll buy it :)

I'm pretty sure that the Exige and Evora will run almost identically. Sort of like the similarities between the Scaley 1969 Camaro and the 1970 Camaro. Virtually identical under the body. But to back up my instinct and because I wanted one anyway I have ordered an Exige and if you want to wait I will report back in a few days how it compares to the Evora and how well it runs. This will be a wood track comparison. If you run on plastic track I'm sure the similarities will be even greater.

unfortunately, in my club the '69 and '70 Camaros run Very differently because of the difference in width. silicone tires on wood.

I've got that exact lotus exige gt3 and I can tell you stock with magnets it's fastest scales car I've got in that class on a medium to small home layout twisty track.
Later I've been buying the scales gt cars like the Bentley gt3 McClaren mp12 4c gt3 the Aston vantage and the BMW z4 gt3 and the lotus just runs rings around them mate I've haven't tried with non mag or tire swaps just box stock mate and it was just superior to the others might be because of its short wheel Base and light weight but yea it's very fast. I've even raced the lotus evora gt4 but even that ain't as planted. Hope that helps u mate.

Not to nit-pick...or maybe to nit pick...but the Scalex Exige is not a GT3. It's the Exige S. The R and R Cup car are the racing versions of the Exige S.

The older Ninco Exige is a GT3.

The GT3 ran the Toyota 4 cylinder.

The S/R Cup runs the Toyota V6 found in the Evora in street and racing version.

I'm even more of a nit-picker on the Lotus Forum correcting folks who call the 83 to 87 Giugiaro styled Turbo Esprit an Esprit Turbo (Peter Stevens design), which is what they were called from 88 through the end of the run! And THOSE are folks who should know better!

This is the Exige S220 I owned on which the GT3 was based.
