Latest Slot Car 2016

LMM recently released a new Porsche 917/20 Pink Pig with updated & improved running gear. This is the old white pig with the original chassis. An unlikely and lovely beast. Goes very well out of the box, and so much of fun to run around the track

This one landed yesterday; an MRRC Cobra coupe. The new Cobras from MRRC have the Sebring chassis rather than the front motored type of the early models. It runs really smoothly after only some vary basic adjustments. The wheels are round and the gear mesh is just fine. The motor is a trifle too hot on 12V, but I plan to add some lead, so the extra power may be about right after that. Not that it is strictly necessary to add weight, the car is nicely balanced as it is, but I like that, heavier feel in slot cars.

A nice addition to Scalextric's great series of classic F1 cars. I'll bet the yellow colour has something to do with their choice of car this time. I think it looks great and Jo Bonnier was a childhood hero, so that's even better.

That Bonnier car looks fantastic..... can't wait for the white Lotus to come out this year.

Well, I have had a few new cars arrive at the home base, so thought I'd share some quick picks for them. ( Hope my wife doesn't subscribe to HRW or I'm in trouble). :)

Most recent is the newest Slot.it Lola Rebellion car#12
Super buy from Power Hobby.






Smooth on my 'test track' and I'm looking forward to tweaking this one as I am a Le Mans fan.

Next is a car I ran across NIB on the 'Bay' for under $20.00!!!
Typical Fly body, SUPER NICE & running lights.
Typical Fly chassis (grinds and bad pinon, Had to re-solder lights to work but were fine after).
More to do but for the price she's a mega win.







Last is my new Carrera 917 Digital.
What is super cool here is I don't have a digital track, but was easily able to get her to run on my routed test track. Simple flick of the switch under the car puts her in 'analog' mode.
Another 'bay' pickup for surprisingly less than I would have thought. I guess it pays to dig an be patient sometimes.

Welcome Bob, you are correct about that, there is no cure for slot cars. Great selection of cars!

Two new toys for me, both scratch builds. The Turbine resin came from this forum and the Wasp is also resin and brass(digital).
Happy with the way the drop front axle turned out. Nice to get them done. Cheers
