Here's what I was used to seeing as a stock car during my younger years. This was one of our home town favorites that would race at the Rensselear Raceway (NW Indiana) which was an 1/8 mile flat dirt track. The track would be moisten down and then the racing would begin. You would wear a Tee-shirt and bluejeans to the event for you shirt would end up with clods of dirt splattered all over the front of the shirt. If you got hit in the back, you weren't watching the racing. The engine of choice back then was a straight six. Sure made for some good times and racing. After a trip to the speedway, I would spend the rest of the time on might slot track for the week racing like the big ones.
