Carrera Porsche 917 Surprise

Had a very nice surprise this morning. The General decided that I "needed" this car due to my almost constant oogling of it online. So with the help of those sneaks over at SCC, she presented it to me this morning. Nothing makes coffee taste any better than having a new slot car to go with it :auto-checkeredflag:

I wanted this car to go with the other two I have for 3 lanes of racing. The car it represents is cool enough, but the race it was in was just as important. Considered to be one of the best races in Sebring history.

In any case the car looks great.







These Porsche models just never lose appeal for me.





Looks like today will be a fun day :)

Oh man, that 917 is a great score, CONGRATS! I just threw down for one of those red #11 Ferrari 512 S Coda Lunga jobs, so my 917 purchase is a ways off. But, I ain't complaining. The 917 is yet another car, for me to look forward to owning! Congrats again, and thanks for the pics!! Enjoy

Harry, those cars are simply awesome. When I had the opportunity in 2003 at Laguna Seca to see the 1970 Daytona 24 race winner up close and personal, the #2 car in the Gulf blue and orange livery (just like one of my first Aurora A/FX HO slot cars), I was floored!
