i guess you are trying the FF050 chassis - the bigger motor, right?
i tried the same thing - wanted to use the presentation chassis with the rectangle brass profile, but the motor is too big and with the necessary sprouts, the ground clearance is nearly zero.
so i built a scratchbuilt styrene chassis for the NASTRUCK.
it should work with a FF030 chassis, so?

Yes Peter, same chassis but with round brass tubes, by the way I thought to put 2mm axle rods inside the tubes to prevent twisting them when pushing 3D printed parts in place.
Didn't try it but just a thought that might help to keep the chassis level.
Chassis itself is fine, nothing is touching the ground except tires of course when it sit on a smooth wood block like in the picture.
But plastic track pieces are pretty much always slightly twisted, this is one of the reasons why I want to build wooden track some point.
It runs as it is now but sometimes it just get stuck.
Standard SCX rubber tires don't help, they are sealed but wide enough to make some friction sometimes, changing the wheels would mean also narrower front tires.
I got at least three set of SCX NASCAR wheels and some of them got broken hub so they could be used as wheel inserts.
So I will try bigger tires first and then maybe another chassis.
FF030 chassis is one solution yes, I got one somewhere.

for the SlotDevil, my choice is 10/23, for the 11170 i put a 8/24 gearing into the NASTRUCK.
the NASTRUCK with 8/24 let´s the tail kick out when breaking at the end of the front straight! :D

Started on this @ the end of Aug., hoping to have it ready in lots of time for the Kleskun hills fun run. Well uh! I finally finished it today, so much for plenty of time. Nothing like 39 yr. old decals to teach patience :(



Heller Lancia Beta, PD printed chassis and wheels, x-speed motor, 8/22 gearing, Barc Bites rear tire :clap: :clap: :text-bravo: , 5/16"/8mm fuel line front tire, and weighs in @ 44gr.
