Lloyd,

Very cool! Is that 1/2" MDF or something else? Looks like you really get a lot of bend at the transitions? Are you back cutting it in those spots or maybe not if it is something softer than MDF?

I like it! We have jokingly said we should incorporate a hill climb into the next project. I'm sure someday it will happen.

Thanks for posting!

Thanks guys!

Jim, the first section I made, the white zigzag hillclimb, is from 1 piece of 12mm (1/2" I think) MDF, 4' x 2'. I routed it, then cut it out with a jigsaw, and then just carefully lifted the top section and mounted it onto a framework. It bent into shape quite easily with no damge in the transition areas.

There are no cutouts underneath.

The rest of the track is 9mm MDF and, except in 2 areas, there are again no cutouts underneath. In the 2 places that I did cut underneath, the bend is a bit too sharp, so the cuts were not actually needed.

I hope this makes some sense.

Regards, Lloyd.

Ya, thanks! Looks like a blast! I know we are going to have to do one here in the future!
