Slot it motor pod

Ok, so what’s the consensus on using the washers that slot it has to mount the pod to the chassis? On a few older cars they didn’t have them but the last few years they do. I recently bought the slot car corner screw sets with the locking nuts and not sure I would gain anything by using the washers. Any thought would be appreciated.

I can't speak positive or negative for them. Tried them on cars I sent into 2 proxies. Since I have a plastic track I've been told the performance here does not equate to how it will work on a wood track. I did notice in testing however that the SCC locking nuts worked loose if you backed of full tight. So I put some locktite on them before shipping. Sorry I can't be of much help to you than that. I do recall one car turned quicker times without the washers. So it may depend on total car setup.

Thanx Chris. That makes perfect sense. Now that you mention it a friend of mine had one of the first slot it cars that was a shelf queen and decided to break it out and the body screws were so tight he stripped them out. So it’s still a shelf queen...... lol....

I use them to change the ride height of the motor pod. If you place them between the chassis and the pod it will lower the chassis to the track which lowers the rear center of gravity which will translate too better handling. May not make a difference on a plastic tracks but it will for a wood tack car.
