Hi Munter/John.

Thanks for asking but I still have the wheels, inserts and axles from my earlier SPR Proxy (standard) Bugeye Sprint. I demolished original chassis when car returned from Canada. You may recall chassis was a one-off aluminimum affair with a Solabotic mounted as sidewinder. Thought I would re-build for recent Bugeye Sprite Proxy but they went with the 1/29th body.

Wobbly inserts are a back-up however as Jim Clark's No.4 had Lotus 4 spoke wheels with knock-offs. I have a plan to copy these but just in case I have the former.

Chassis for Lotus 30 is another unconventional one-off so it will be interesting to see how it goes. I will try to post some photos soon. Still sanding rear tyres.

It is a resin body. I think the name AA comes to mind (not sure what that stands for) originally did the body but this may be a later generation spinoff. It is an unusual car so that is why I like it, but it is tiny!

Hi Bob, That Cooper bobtail does look good in that color! And I can understand why you liked that SA Tech 1 motor! Haha!

Go to Racing Sports Cars and look at how the bobtails actually ran in SCCA events.

I suspect (without looking at any pics) that if you silvered (or aluminumed) the ring behind the drivet’s head that you’d be OK; because I think that your driver’s head is well proud of its standard racing position, probably due to chassis clearance needs.

Roll bars were part of SCCA events, gents. I’m putting a minimal one inside my Corvette C2 coupe.

Not to stir the pot here but is the tech 1 rated at 20k rpm.
I really just want to have fun here and not get too serious, but i dont want to start at a disadvantage either. I would suggest folk take a long look at the motor they have chosen and see if it meets the requirements. The only other option is to have the classes divided as spec and non spec.

Ok guys I withdraw my entry. The can end shape of the hawk will not allow an oilite placement. Inline placement would mean removal of the interior and the policar motor with the shapeways pod and chassis is north of $115.00 Cdn.

Brumos:
This is the first chassis I've done with the stainless steel tubing but the car runs well. It is probably more flexible than music wire but easier to solder and less heat to do so. This is such a short chassis I don't think there is much flex in the tubing. When making the hoop for the motor pod to go into, I simply used the motor pod and bent the tubing freehand around the motor pod and then built the rest of the structure. I was getting it from some of the shops that cater to the drag racing scene, but now Slot Car Corner is stocking it (and they have SCC Canada as well).
