Awful quiet around here...rumor has it that our hosts this year Slot Car Racing Edmonton are "rebranding" their club name yet again...seems apropos



Our defending champs are ready. Superslab has arranged yet another way to stand out from the crowd



Meanwhile somewhere in Winnipeg, Paul Gage and boys are rumored be going with a "red shirt" theme for their look....here's a glimpse into that future



And don't worry about Kelowna....they're going with an interesting entry in this years race. I heard somewhere black cars go faster?

On a somewhat more serious note, and for those who may not be aware...but Paul Gage has developed a few new moulds made specifically to fit over the NSR air ride wheels.

He’s got 2 new sizes, 20105LMDF and a 21105LMDF. The latter size being one of the two spec , hand out tires sizes for the Tourist Trophy.

Both of these two new tires have 2 channels within that the raised portion of the NSR air ride wheel will slip into. The tire then essentially fills the gap between these two raised flanges on the air ride wheel.



This is the best solution I’ve seen outside of trying to put foam or o-rings within the “gap” to help get the tire to seat evenly. Now no need for the fuss, just slip the tire on, glue and true as you normally would :-)

I had the privilege of doing some early testing with these new DF’s and have to say they work a treat! Well done to Paul :text-bravo:

Hi folks,

It's full steam ahead for this year's event. As many of you can probably appreciate, when you have people travelling large distances for a slot car event, it takes time, money and support to not only pull it off but to make it a worthwhile event to travel for.

Last year's inaugural event wouldn't have happened without the help of our sponsors. Christian at Slot Car Corner Canada was instrumental in getting the ball rolling and we're all looking forward to having him part of the fun this year.

This year, the event class is NSR Classics or as some call it NSR Vintage. I know a number of this year's clubs and participants have been busy tuning and tweaking these bad boys already. And for some of us, we've been learning about NSR's development and subtle enhancements over the years.

For 2019, we are very fortunate and appreciative to have NSR's support, making the Tourist Trophy Canada's biggest inter-club race. Having corresponded with NSR it is refreshing to deal with a manufacturer who exudes passion for the hobby and who is interested in understanding and growing the enthusiast market here in North America.

So I just wanted to call out NSR for their support and publicly thank them for helping to make our event a reality :text-bravo:

A huge thank you to NSR from the old guys in Kelowna. We do not race NSR cars in any category but our OPEN class. Many of our members did not even own a NSR car. One of our members has 350 cars and none of them were a NSR make. Now we are tuning and enjoying the quality of the models produced by NSR. I'm sure after the second annual Tourist Trophy we will see more of your cars raced. So once again THANK YOU NSR!!!
