Finished up a few cars from my favorite vintage car maker.

Great cars..!!..and yours look really nice. You had to be a fairly good builder to scratchbuld a car that would stay with the Russkit Carrera chassis............still a huge favourite among the Vintage car racers.

It is a shame that the "Brass" Carrera chassis never made it past the prototype stage (I prayed for one)........that would have really been something.

Yes, it's a shame the hobby crashed when it did. Jim had some really interesting stuff in the works. The proposed Alfa Tipo would have been amazing.

Nice work, I particularly like the bottom car. Is that an "Elfin"? It has a nice flow.

Chris, Bruce Patterson has a picture of the "Honker" on his website that I think you built. Did you get the body from him? I may put it on my list of bodies to order

The bottom car is a McLaren (II).

Prior to the release of the "Carrera" chassis, Russkit was producing the "Spyder" and "SuperSpyder" inline brass chassis'......these were rather flimsly at best, and were nowhere near the performance of the "Carrera" sidewinder cars. A fair bit of work was needed in chassis stiffening to get these "Spyders" to perform. The "spyders" were mainly found under Russkits' hard body Cooper and Ferrari 156.

I think the chassis under the blue Lola is a black widow that came from me.

I am sure that most of you are aware that the idea for the Black Widow apparently came from Jim's wife...........it was a way of quickly reducing the rather large supply of the then rather obsolete Russkit "22" motors lying around the shop. (I wish I had a few more "22"'s/"23"s lying around).
