Kihm,
I have been steadily involved in manufacturing since 1973 in various areas of responsibility. I also have a son who happens to be a veteran so that 'almost' makes us even on that point. I also happen to be a no-nonsense kind of guy when it comes down to basic business and supplying customers.
You have made some very presumptuous assumptions.
I made a clear statement regarding the 'manufactured' products. I engineer the manufactured R-D products from the ground up and perform the machining work myself. You have no idea where I get my
raw materials. That is proprietary information because of the research, period. I do my level best to purchase raw materials made in the USA and, as I said about the motors, it is sad that USA made products are getting harder to find, but I keep finding them. Even the cutting tools I buy to make the R-D 'manufactured' products are 'Made in the USA'. You have no idea, other than motors, where the products I re-sell are originated - and again it is none of your business, you haven't a clue, and you are only guessing.
As for the SCX cars sold to you, those were not R-D manufactured (DUH), you knew it, and made the purchase.
You asked for opinions/feedback and you got it. In your post you slanted my character and business. We talked on the phone before you grew this post and we made an agreement, but when the dust settled you didn't stand tall and abide by it. Thank you very much.
Question:
Exactly what have you brought to the 1/43 scale other than 'me too' total import products?
