I knew some guys who restored pinball machines in Memphis. I even went with them to some really seedy places in Memphis to use my truck to haul several at a time. They became the best analytical electricians I ever saw. They drifted into electronics by necessity, but they were not trained. One was a medical student, one was a civil engineer, one worked at a hospital, and one just restored pinball machines to perfect condition and sold them to rich folks. Most of theirs were Bally, but there were lots of Gottliebs around. Never saw that one, though.
