the 50's and 60's and I remember him taking me to my first race there in the early 70's.
Many former Cup stars raced Modifieds there in the 70's and 80's.. The Bodine brothers,
Jimmy Spencer, Steve Park, Ron Bouchard etc
As long as can remember, the old road course was abandoned and overgrown and all the
racing I ever went to there was on the 5/8 mile oval..
Thats all changing right now and the 2014 season will feature road racing once again
thanks to a massive reconstruction project.. Can't wait to see it in person next spring~
