Wondering if I have gone off the deep end

Ok....So I have purchased the nephews new slot car set a Carrera Go!! Spiderman Manhattan Madness...I had printed out the 2013 Carrera catalog I found on line and when the nephews were at the house last week for homecoming they see the catalog and start to go through it and the ooh's and ahh's begin as they look at the cars and other options, then it hits me.....I think I can try a scratch build, now I know I have gone off the deepend.....turn to my friend google and at an online vendor I see that they offer a chasis for a 1/43 scale but no bodies/shells/resins.....

My thoughts were a couple of Nascar Style Cars and decals from Pattos place (I was going to go with #29 cartoon Network cars from the 90's Flinstones, and Scooby Doo)...

As I continued to do research I was not able to find any kind of instructions for putting the chasis together whether or not axels wheels and tires are with this set up and most of all what kind of motor...I have not given up but as I search this board and other places on the web its hard to peace together....So have I gone completely nuts for even trying this or just a little....

ron--- go to the "building tips" on the top of this forum.... page 2 will give you a idea of what can be done. have specific questions and the forum will probably give you great replies.
