RIP Peter Pre

Postby ElSecundo » Fri Nov 22, 2013 8:02 pm

Just read that Peter Pre had passed away after a long illness. For kit-bashers and scratch-builders, Peter was a legendary figure, probably best known for his outstanding wire wheels and his Mercedes transporter (copied by many). Thanks for all the fantastic work, Peter, and godspeed.

I remember how big a hit that transporter was. How old was he, anyway? I was under the impression he was middle aged.

I think he was in his early 60's.

That really is sad. I have his Chaparral 2J thanks to Rich M. I think I will run a few memorial laps this evening.

Just before he was admitted to hospital Peter was putting the finishing touches to his Chappy transporter.

I think we can probably credit his Mercedes transporter as being the muse that started the releases by MMK and Racer.

Sleep well Peter.
