Winter Gnats/ Harry's visit - PHOTOS POSTED!

Harry's on his way back to HRW ground zero after our annual winter get together at Ozark Mountain Raceway ( my house.) Thanks for making the trip Harry, I had a blast. Thanks you too for the cars. The Fly inline classic Ferrari runs incredible and the Carrera Can Am car is amazing. Who knew you could get the Carrera to hang with the Slot It on my track We stayed only on the road course today and ran Ninco classics, like I said Fly classics, Carrera and Slot It Can AMs. Trans Am cars from every manufacturer. Even ran Carrera classic nascar on the road course and every Ninco classic Vette we owned. I'm sure Harry will supply a few pics, as I know " if there's no pictures it didn't happen. " Thanks again for making the trip Harry and thanks for the cars. Jim PS you left your fancy screw driver here, I will take good care of it. :D

It was fun David! You know how it goes, I have a car I have tuned and feel pretty good about then he pulls out a similar car and blows my doors off and then tells me how he did a "little" more tuning and tweaking to it since our last visit. His latest trick is fine sanding (800 grit) the tires after the usual Tire Razor treatment. I'm telling you the only cars I could keep up with him were the ones he tuned for me and the Racer Capri. Which , on the Capri, really doesn't take much but a motor change and PG tires. Jim

Well here goes!



The final event in the OMFG 2013 series was held today at Ozark Mountain Raceway. Track owner HRWJim had it looking good and ready for action.





Jim knows how to detail a track. Scenery progress is impressive.

I rebuilt this Scalextric Sunoco Camaro last night. This was Knightrider's (Pete) car I gave him years ago. The body was given to me by Frank at SCW. Just the body and Pete took one of the Hornby kits and finished it. I decided to honor Pete by tuning it up and giving it a good run.



Paired up a couple Carrera classics. Good race.

I took 2nd!



My Cobra against Jim's finely tuned Bowtie.

I took 2nd!



Now here was a good slot fight. Just finished this tune job after Rob basically forced me to do something half-right. Jim did an equally nice job on his classic. Boy, what a slugfest!



Thanks to my driving skills, I won! Hmmm...wonder how Jim ended up there?



In hindsight I should have backed off the throttle.

Had a great time today. With my consistent podium finishes I easily took 2nd place in this series. Always a bridesmaid it seems, but there is always next year!

Jim, thanks for hosting a fun day of slot racing. And thanks for my new Trans-Am book and other toys. Will post about those later.

Yeah, I'm so well known for pushing people around, right? Seriously, its good to see Pete and Frank remembered together. That must have been a very enjoyable car to see running right. Wish I was there that night and at Jim's to see it run.

Thanks guys and Dave your right about the simple scenery really nothing too hard at all. Pm me and we can maybe exchange phone numbers and I can tell you how I did anything you might be interested.
Curtis it's 12 foot long and 7 foot at the L. I used 2 sheet of 4X8 mdf. It's all the room I had in the room I put it in.
Footscoot anytime you want to come over and run some cars let me know and I'll bet Harry would make the trip too.
