RevoGram... :teasing-blah:
Nah not really, although I do like them for the variety, there are many that don`t get my vote. It`s just not a question I have a solid answer for, mostly because there are many variables that come into play with me. Sometimes I want "that" car, and that car may be from a different company each time. Sometimes I want a particular unit to strip and redo. Sometimes I get a car because of a influence from another person. I like the fact that I have the choice, the quality/price doesn`t usually turn me away from any manufacturer if it`s one I want.

But if I must make a choice to make you happy my vote is H&R, a great dependable/predicable product, and one that gives me a blank canvas to wave my brush at. :music-rockout:

I didn't vote for Carrera although I did consider them for all of the American Muscle they've provided over the years, accurate detailing and attractive prices.
Since we're making a list of Carrera American Muslce please let's not forget the Carrera GTO! I sold my green one years ago and wish I had it now.

I hadn't considered Monogram - maybe because they're no longer active in slot cars - but I love the Grand Sport, Daytona Coupe and all of the vintage NASCAR they've done. Does anyone have any connections with Monogram management? Maybe we can convince them to at least produce some 1/32 static kits for conversion. Would love to add cars to the vintage NASCAR grid - how about a '62 Pontiac?

Still, as nhdungeonracer said succinctly it's what's under the cars that counts and Slot.It provides that in spades. My biggest pet peeve with the big set manufacturers is plastic rear wheels and push-on crowns and spurs on cars. To me it's worth a $20 premium to get a car with gears and aluminum rear wheels that are designed to be repeatedly removed and replaced by the use of a simple set screw. Retail prices of Slot.It cars have climbed in the past ten years from $45 to $65 but many can still be found for $45 - $50 on the secondary market.

For several years I only bought Slot.it cars. Then I re-discovered the Fly classics. Their range of cool, classic sports cars is second to none. And as someone said a few posts up. with a little work (always satisfying) they are very good runners. The newest Carrera cars are much better than any of their cars made up until about a year ago. I think the Carrera Cheetah is the best car they have ever made. But they keep shooting themselves in the foot with their wonky guide system and the move to make most new releases in digital only. The biggest good surprise i have had lately is my little SCX MGA. This is one of the most pleasurable cars to drive that I own. I have just bought my first NSR cars (the Porsche 917 set). They are very nice cars aesthetically and mechanically. But overall, I would have to go with Slot.it. Just outstanding bang for the buck in every way.

If I had to pick just one brand it would be Fly. They have the 60's-70's era Sports and prototype 'Le Mans' cars, a field of Group 5 cars, 70's F1, and a few modern GT/Protos thrown in for good measure …AAAAAND when I want crazy variety they have 4 body styles of Racing Rigs to choose from!
Also what I like about Fly is that threw it all they never went off the range with different motor options (think Ninco), constantly changing guide/motor connectors (think Scaley), and finally no massive guide flag to trim down or replace (see Carrera). With all of their 'character', I'd take Fly all day every day as the 'One Brand To Rule Them All'.

Gee, talk about the hard questions.
I like Fly for their '70's F1 cars like the March and Lotus.
Scalextric (despite some recent questionable offerings) are still on the list for their Range of trans Ams and Aussie muscle cars.
SCX would have been well up there if they had gone on with more Trans Am after the Cuda and not gotten into strife.

6 Months ago, I probably would have gone for Fly,
Today I would probably say Scalextric (and yes I know I've slammed them in the recent past)

They do some nice 60's and 70's F1 cars, the Trans Am Fleet has just expanded and they are the only ones doing anything Australian. ( also I've just ordered or bought a pile of Camaros and Challengers ,many of which are up for repaints).

So Scaley it is. I suppose. ( But I still hate that Daytona). :D
It's been a 35 year relationship, so there's bound to be some bumpy days. :auto-checkeredflag: :auto-driving: :auto-checkeredflag:

Scalextric for me. Pure and simple: They fed my T/A craving and still do. 99% of my own resins have Scalextric chassis under them as they are pretty bullet-proof for my racing needs. The fact that they have finally moved the line again with the release of the Challenger and Cougar shows me that they care and are trying to keep it going. I can't ask for any more than that.

I like Carrera, Ninco, Rev-Mono, Slot.it, SCX and MRRC as well, but the T/A series is my bread and butter.
