3 Lane Lap Timing Ideas Most Welcome

What's my easiest(and least expensive) way to get lap timing(and where) on all three lanes?

Right now I have a Deadstrip on all three lanes which triggers a DS 200 which then triggers PC Lap Counter software. I really like it but I can only get two lanes this way. I've tied Lanes 1 & 3 together and 2 is the other one so If I race, somebody gets lane 2 and then one other person gets their choice of lane 1 or 3. Can't race all three lanes though(with timing) because 1 & 3 trigger the same timing. Might sound bassackwards but it works...really like it but I can't get all three.

so…..How do I get all three? I don't think you can add on to the DS 200. I'd need to scrap that and get a DS300 and another module. That's just getting into too much money at this point for me & the stage I'm at with slots.

If you are using Pc Lap Counter, then try a webcam.

They are cheap enough and it works well. I have one on my laptop and it does the trick.

Of course you need a computer, which you will need for most any other type of interface.

It is not a great idea to connect dead strips directly to a computer. Normally I would recommend getting Trackmate with the dead strip option, you could use that with the Trackmate software plus Ultimate Racer 3 and RC. I expect that Trackmate costs more than you are willing to pay at this point. Good advice you are getting.
For me easier meant not having to deal with computer programming.
I opted for Ultimate racer with a light bridge. Simple wires and solder and no extra software to download.
