Pit Box Ideas Needed

Is there a place on the forum that shows some good ideas for pit boxes. I am having a hard time finding a good pit box and could use some ideas.

Explain? Sure. It was a facetious, tongue-in-cheek comment. I think you are right about there being no scientific validity, only anecdotal observations, to the notion that storing magnets on a steel surface will destroy the magnet. As a non-magnet racer I have lots of magnets laying around with no real use for most of them. So. if indeed it were true that a steel drawer (whatever) destroyed the magnets and you could just throw them away as inert pieces of ferrous alloy it would solve the age-old, non-magnet racer's dilemma of "What do I do with all these magnets?" Never a problem. Without any body language, it is sometimes hard to fully understand what a comment truly means. There is no way of reading the words and fully understanding what the other person really meant to say. One of those "Communications" issues we all have from time to time.

Mag vs No-Mag - something I dislike doing. I will race either way at just about any facility. To me most of the time we are all racing with some magnetic downforce. Either that or you have come up with some way to run that DC motor without having any magnets in it. I find the type of track will dictate what type of racing you do anyway. Most of my racing is done on an MDF track with copper tape.

Marty, as you say, not a problem. My sense of humor has gotten me into and out of trouble for as long as I can remember. While I drive my track with no magnets, all my other slot buddies use magnets. I am not so much of a purist that I will give up an opportunity to race by refusing to drive a magnet car. That's another reason I have the magnets around. It's no trouble to put one back in a car to "let the good times roll!" But, my preference is to race like we did back in the '60s, without magnets. It is good to see you back and I send my best to you.
