Interesting the comments on the weight. Total weight of the car is now 81.6g which I do not consider to be excessive. It means the weight before I added the 7g wheel balance weight was close to 75g: while not a train smash I consider this a bit on the light side.
I have found it pretty much unavoidable to add around this amount of weight to the rear of a front motored car to get reasonable weight distribution and decent handling. A quick check shows that the weight distribution is now close to 55% rear, 45% front which I think is generally considered marginally towards the heavy side on the front (60/40-ish seems to be a consensus good rule of thumb). I could have added slightly less weight slightly further back but I start getting concerned about the pendulum effect of weight behind the rear axle.
I am most curious: what do other people do with narrow front engine cars in terms of weight?
