Yeah it is a bit disappointing; they have had 8 cars on tap for each of the first two years, a couple cool things last year and now just the Porsche GT1 Car???
I am really surprised when I saw the heading I was really excited, now I am not sure?? this catalog sends some kind of mixed signals!?
First thing you get to is the D-slot big two page spread and then it's a nice layout! I guess only those of us who have been buying their cars for the last couple years would immeadiately recognize that there is not really anything new!? The GT1 was announced a while back and should be nearing readiness! :auto-driving:
I figured at the very least we would get some new liveries out of bodies like the 917 (Gulf?) or the 962(Jagermeister?) maybe a race version of the R8 or a Dslot version of the Lancia Integral that is in the D-nano line. Any of this would have put me over the moon, but as it stands my enthusiasim is more subdued!
I guess we do have to factor in that Kyosho is primarily an R/C company and R/C companies don't typically pump out load of new cars every year, they ahve a new model every few years and typically an update to an older model that needs performance upgrades.
One thing to note that is signaificant though is that they are showing pretty much ALL the cars they have produced to date so a newbie opening the catalog WILL pretty much be blown away and that's good for us. I don't think Kyosho is going to go at this like Carrera and Scalextric where there are tons of new cars and reliveries every year, which I guess is OK with me, as long as I know there's going to be new product on a consistant basis I can adjust my expectations. I just don't want to see a situation like SCX were a great product just sort of evaporates or lies stagnant! :?
