TGIF - Cleaning up

What a week. Been a busy one down here although you could not tell. New releases have been slow coming but that is normal this time of year.

But just this week, the Slot.it "Led Zeppelin" McLaren has arrived and this might be one of the hottest releases of the year.

As I wait for it to hit my mailbox, this lets us finish the Skunkworks. Rebuilding the other side of the shop and when finished, it should open up the old place a little more.

Our goal is different than some. We want to make sure when we have our annual events, that folks have a little more room. Should have more slot box storage and a little more elbow room at the workbench as well.We might not have a lot of events, but the ones we do mean a great deal to us and hopefully our friends approve.

Have some BBQ grill maintenance to perform, but we will tackle that when we start to thaw out.

We have a club from MA visiting SCC this Sat night for some racing, so hopefully we can all have a fun time.

Clearcoating the Cunningham and assembling the Spridget today while HL is flying circles over this end of the state looking for fires.

Then tomorrow its a quick trip interstate to visit a couple of my favourite wineries.

He's only spotter and radio, not pilot. It's all volunteer based for Country Fire Authority although the Department of Sustainable Environment (or whatever their current name is under this government) get paid to do it.

It's a bit of pot luck on what plane they may get to play with.

They've been keeping a bit of an eye out along the coast because there's a fire bug in the area. But he seems to have been quiet so far this season. Hopefully he's moved on.

Yes it's been a bit of a crazy fire season.
At a bout the same time you guys in the US were getting hit by that big arctic cold cell, we got hit by a real dry hot one that did a big lap of Australia.
Started up north somewhere, hit south WA and then moved East to Ember.
Fires Everywhere.
Where my mate lives only about 40 minutes away, they lost 40 houses.

Some friends were burned out in SA and in NSW a few years back. The fires moved so fast they had to run for it.

Hopefully they will get the fire situation in Australia taken care of soon. Fires are never good. As for this weekend I'm still working on the Cal-Look Bug. I tried to get the windows back in it, and that was a no go. I could get all of them back in except the 2 in the doors. There must be a secret to those rascals. When is it gonna be Spring? :)

Ember - I salute HL for his volunteer efforts. Having just dealt with this so close to my home the past two summers it sucks. Those pictures stirred up some bad memories.
