If Artin cars are...........

so bad.......why do a lot of builders use the chassis for conversions?????????????????????????????

here`s my thoughts on this......I`ve used Aluminum,I`ve used SCX, I`ve used carrera,I`ve used resin,I`ve even made some out of brass and copper ,but to get the results I want I always go back to ARTIN for my conversions?????? they`re cheap,and very durable,these darn things are like a TIMEX, Take A Lickin And Keep On Tickin! :lol: :lol: Go ARTIN! :laughing-rolling:

Hoos, as long as artin used the universal chassis with 3 front axle positions, all was good.
but they started with individual chassis for each car and very ugly rims and even worse tires...

got 2 of the new Minis ordered directly from China about 6 month ago, but they are not the same artins like they used to be ...
but if you got one of those "old" chassis with the narrow tires, i will take them out of your hands fast!

I think one reason that the Artins are good for conversions is that they are actually 1/48 scale for all practical purposes; this makes them really smaller then most 1/43 cars and as we all know it's easier to to extend a chassis then it is to contract them, especially in the width & wheel track area's. I really don't like Artin's much, BUT I have a number of bodies I am wanting to convert and time after time the chassis that looks like it will be the easiest to put under'em is Artin!! :?

Like Peter, there is one chassis they did that I really like and it was the one with the Wide (& sticky) back tires. The wheels & Tires on most Artins are kinda throwaways in my opinion, but those wheels and tires on that chassis are real good!

Actually, the thing I always hated most about Artin is the Huge 6 Volt Mabuchi; You simply could not take the magnuts out or the car would just do 180's in any kind of a corner. If they could redesign them with something like the Fire box and a couple other small refinements they would be MEGA! :music-rockout:

Many builds with Artin chassis. Love 'em.

I'm with ya, Hoos; I still convert Artin chassis. Since I went to an an BriSCA theme, however, I'm gonna have to acquire some HO chassis for my 1/43 Mini Cooper class. Working on a swivel shoe mod for Artins to be use for three-wheeler Reliant Robins. Never a dull moment!
