You know Honestly looking @ all this stuff, gives me sort of mixed feelings. yeah, It is neat to look @ old stuff, But most of that stuff I don't miss! 8-Track tapes?? Yeah, they were cool @ the time, but they were terribly unreliable and not many people would trade one of those for a MP3 player or even a CD player.

Remembering things from when I was young, just reminds me that I am old! :(

Honestly the things that I miss most from my childhood or younger days, were not things at all! They were the times themselves! A time where companies provided a service and charged a fair price for it, NOT the maximum they thought they could get away with. They worried about making their employee's and customers happy, NOT their shareholders! You could rely on your neighbors to look out for your kids not molest them! The government supported the average guy, not some fat cats or large corporations.

The thing about getting older is maybe being a bit more cynical, But even though my tollerence for BS has gone down I have to deal with more of it every day!

It may be a cliche', but as they say "Those were Simpler times" & THAT is what I miss! :angry-soapbox:

I remember those things. I came along too late for them, but I sure saw them when the folks would take me to Sears at Christmas to drool all over the trains and slot cars.

I can remember seeing American Restoration doing a resto job on an Irish Mail one. ;)

I loved my hand pump water rocket. To this day that shade of red clear of the rocket makes me think "I want that!" haha...yeah, 8-tracks are not really missed. Heck, I used to record radio station songs onto 8-track tapes so that I could play them in my 1976 Mustang. Just stop and think about that Herculean effort by todays' "just download the app" generation." But I do love my renewed vinyl collection. I gave it all away after a divorce (was happy to do so) and then slowly bought back better condition copies of only the music I wanted. Got a nice vintage JVC turntable, brand new Shure needle and picked up a few brand new vinyl releases (Adele and The Black Keys for example) and it's even better than it was back in the day. But yeah, we all want our youth back too!

Speaking of which, I just went on the DUMAS website and purchased a Pay N Pak boat (circa 1973) to relive the old days of building a RC motor boat - something I always wanted to do. At least nowadays we have dremels and fancy glues!
