Break-in oil for sidewinder gears

I'm looking for an oil to help me break in some of my sidewinder-motored cars. I'm using Slot.It proaxles in most of my non-Slot.It sidewinder cars; most of them with 11/36 gearing, and I'd like to use an oil that gives me a nice, quiet (almost silent) gear mesh. What type of oil is recommended for this use?

I'm not expecting an oil to make a bad meshing set of gears into a good one. If it's a bad mesh, then I start over. What I want is an oil that will take a good mesh to the next level of smoothness.

I expect that it will be an oil with some sort of abrasive in it; like carborundum. But, before I act, I wanted to see what the people here use. Thanks.

There is no magic oil as you know. I prefer a little Johnsons paste rubbing compound for break in. After that any light oil will work. I like Marvel Mystery oil. Been using it for years and works fine.

For the gears I use a lapping compound, very light abrasive with a bit of oil already mixed to help it spread.
I use it on the lapping of pistons and rings on small racing motors.
I put a little cardboard cutout around the bearing area to stop any getting into the motor.
Then its the old clean up and oil or grease just like the other fellas said except I use a dry lube on the gears
Man a long way off from the old toothpaste, which still works and smells good .

I use Maas Polish and PPR'S Grease.
I used to use tooth paste, it took too long to wear in, the Maas works faster!

Most of the time I'll use Scratch-X from Meguiars. Works pretty quickly and easily. Really makes a huge difference.

Set the gears up with zero backlash, but not tight. Apply tooth whitening toothpaste on the gears and run at 3-4V for a few minutes. Clean off toothpaste and check to see if you have the smallest of small backlash. A bee's dick worth. If no backlash reapeat. Apply moly grease.

I love how everyone has their own combination. I do my best to follow Doc Fabio's instructions, except I use Jif cleaner instead of toothpaste. I use moly grease on gears for lube and a drop Singer sewing machine oil on axle bushings.

Yep Singer sewing machine oil. Forget all the hyper expensive "crap" slot companies try and flog you. Sewing machine oil!! Just steal some of the better half when shes not looking. I tested a whole bunch of different lubes with an optical tacho and sewing machine oil won.

Always works better when you use someone else's sewing machine oil :D Im sure its a universal law or something. Like F= ma or the buttered side of the bread will always fall face down onto the floor.
