You might be an old timer if you still have several of the blue MRRC controllers....including one BNIB!!!
You might be an old timer if you routed your Masonite track with a Strombecker "Armstrong" manual routing kit.
You might be an old timer if you just had the frayed end of the wire for "braid", before braid was common.
You might be an old timer if you remember that Revell, Monogram, Strombecker, slot car kits cost $6.00.
You might be an old timer if your very first slot car was an Aurora Model Motoring Corvette vibrator car.

TOJ......The OLD Jaybird, after all.

This is fun reading, guys -- keep it up, I'm just gonna sit back and sniff a little AURORA Model Motoring Special Racing Oil while I'm at the keyboard!
(I don't want to stink up the house with the Oil of Wintergreen!)
Oh yeah, my first slot car (HO scale, at least) WAS a tan Aurora 1960 Corvette Hardtop w/ "vibrator" chassis!

Enjoying this read very much... Ernie
